About Me

I was born in Campbellton, New Brunswick, Canada but also grew up in:

  • Sudbury, Ontario
  • Halifax, Nova Scotia
  • St. John’s, Newfoundland

I live in Nagoya, Aichi, Japan now. I’ve lived here since November 2005.

I spend most of my time:

  • teaching middle school English
  • designing EFL curriculum and presentations
  • designing and making wooden furniture by hand
  • making delicious food (my specialties are bone broths, kimchi, sauerkraut, omelets, and homegrown vegetable salads)
  • reading and watching videos about typography and design
  • listening to podcasts and music
  • doing calisthenics and flexibility workouts (I’m working towards doing the splits like Jean Claude Van Damme)
  • playing retro (PS1) video games, mainly JRPGs
  • studying languages (advanced Japanese and French, beginner Korean)
  • skateboarding, #justhavefun
  • proofreading and editing various English documents
  • translating various documents from Japanese to English

I have a lot of interests.
